Academic Mentoring & Student Support
Setting up for success.
Feeling overwhelmed by study, struggling to get started, or simply wanting to perform at your best?
A flexible, personalised, online or in-person, student service supporting university and secondary students to study more effectively, feel more confident, manage wellbeing, use AI beneficially, and reach their potential.

Study can become difficult for many reasons; a confusing topic, an assignment that feels too big, competing deadlines, an ineffective or unsustainable system, or uncertainty about how to use available tools. I support students to move through difficulty into learning more effectively, feeling more in control, and setting themselves up for long-term success.

Getting started
How the first session and enquiry works:
Before booking
Practical information and policies
Required Materials to Bring:
The student is responsible for providing all required materials if working towards a specific academic goal, e.g. task sheet, marking criteria and relevant school or university policies. The student is also to bring all of their own study implements of preference, such as a charged laptop.
Forgetting to bring necessary materials, while unfortunate, will not negate the cost of the session and may incur the cancellation policy.
Location and Time Options:
Online: conducted via Google Meet or Zoom.
Mutually agreed location: session conducted in a public space in central Grafton.
Home visits: free within the immediate Grafton area. A travel fee for outside the immediate area will be quoted before booking.
Times: subject to availability but highly flexible, including weekends and evenings.
Financial Policy:
Payment: Cash or bank transfer available, to be paid on the session date unless selecting the four-session package which is to be prepaid at the time of booking, invoice and receipt provided via email. If an invoice becomes overdue future bookings will be paused.
Cancellations: 24 hours’ notice required for session rescheduling; otherwise 50% of the session cost will be charged, with one discretionary waiver for genuine emergencies. Full fee will be charged for a no-show without contact.
Refunds: the outcomes of this service are dependent on the student and no particular grades or results are guaranteed, no post session response qualifies a refund. Package sessions must be booked for within the 4-6 week window from time of purchase otherwise the sessions will expire without refund.
Minor Policy:
Consent: a guardian must give consent upon initial booking.
Communication: there is an open-communication policy such that if a minor is conducting their own communication a guardian must have access and all communication must be restricted to this channel, such as a group chat.
Duty of care: Duty of care does not extend beyond the agreed upon location and time, guardians are responsible for the arrival and departure of minors if selecting a mutually agreed meeting location.
Privacy Policy:
All collected information and any student work will be held strictly confidential and will not be uploaded or posted to any publicly accessible places. Statements or media collected for marketing purposes will not be gathered or shared without explicit consent.
